  • From 125 US dollars

Service Description

This two hour casting clinic is designed for beginner fly casters through intermediate experience levels. If you are new to the sport, spending time with our casting instructor will provide you with the skills that it could take you a couple of years to learn on your own. The course will begin on dry land learning casting theory, the components of fly lines and rods that impact your cast, and developing your casting stroke. The course will include a short period of time on the water wet casting (either wading or from a boat, depending on water conditions). This will prepare you for multiple scenarios of loading your cast, performing various casting techniques, as well as begin to build your confidence for on the water line management and mending. And while catching a fish is not our focus during your casting clinic, it is not uncommon to occur. You will walk away from this course full of new language and skills that will prepare you to embark on a lifelong adventure of being an angler of the fly. *We will supply all the rods, lines and terminal tackle. You are encouraged to bring your own if you have them, so you can get familiar with casting your own equipment. **Casting clinics are held at various locations in the Abingdon, VA and Bristol, TN area. Your instructor will select the location based on weather and river conditions. ***For large group casting clinics, please reach out through the contact form at the top of this page. If you would like to tip your instructor with a credit card, you can do so from our SHOP page here: https://www.riverfeetflyfishing.com/product-page/gratuity
